many families into "abundant living". Her life as a wife of 20+ years,15+ years homeschooling mother of
six children, author of numerous published works (including a 5 year
running home school best seller), columnist, and woman in general have
given her insight into the challenges faced by all women, while her
faith in God has given her direction and answers to many of life's
toughest questions. Ann is actively involved in many areas of ministry
including working with Veteran's, Home Missions, Food Banks and

| WHY ABUNDANCE: We have always been told that God desires to bless His children and our lives should be a representation of His goodness & abundance. But why does God desire to bless us and how can we position ourselves to receive all God has for us? First--understand that blessing is God's plan to bring glory to Him. Second--understand that we must seek to bring God glory not ourselves with His blessing. Third--understand we do this by focusing on the purpose of the blessing not the blessing in relation to our benefit. So what does God desire us to do with the blessing He gives us?
"And God is able to make all grace (every favor & earthly blessing) come to you in abundance, SO THAT you may always and under all circumstances & whatever the need be self-sufficient (possessing enough to require no aid or support AND furnished in abundance for every good work and charitable donation." 2 Cor. 9:8 God is able to and desires to grace our lives with abundance so that we can be secure and self-supported with a life of charity and giving to others. God's love and grace is a perfect picture of continual servitude to one another. It is His desire for the blessed believer to give to one another in order that they worship Him with thanksgiving. "The service that ministering of this fund renders not only fully supplies what is lacking but overflows in cries of thanksgiving to God." 2 Cor. 9:11 |
| HOW ABUNDANCE You may be one who has lost hope in abundance being manifested in your life. Maybe you have tried and tried to find the keys to being blessed of God,but are continually coming up empty handed and doubting this promise for your life. I have found that the only way to manifest these blessings in your life is to focus on what you can give rather than what you can get. This may sound a little backwards, however when the focus turns from your benefit to the benefit of others God moves on behalf of the servant. Joining God in His purpose renders abundant blessing. "When you are joined with me and I with you, the harvest is sure to be abundant. Make yourselves at home with me and my words at home in you, you can be sure that whatever you ask will be listened to and acted upon....If you keep my commands you'll remain intimately at home in my love...The root command is love one another." John 15:5-8,17 Being in harmony with God by obeying his commands and loving others through servitude will reap blessings of abundance in your life. |
| HINDRANCES TO ABUNDANCE Ask yourself this question, "Do I ask for my benefit or for the benefit that others will receive from the provision?" God sees the reason behind our petitions and we must pray for a heart of servitude and compassion if we are to receive the blessings of God. If our reasoning always relates back to how something will affect us, we are probably asking amiss and not allowing God to be at home and in control of our lives. "Ye ask and receive not because you ask amiss...that you may consume it upon your desires." James 4:3 Another reason we often fail to see the blessing of God in our lives is due to our inability to believe God wishes to bless us. One day we believe, the next we don't. This is clearly referred to as double-mindedness. Usually we find ourselves struggling with this when we face continued problems to financial, physical and emotional challenges. The belief of blessing is not to be measured by the absence of challenge. Life has always and will always present challenge, but it is up to us to take control of our lives by minimizing the pysholgical affect of challenge on our spiritual beliefs. In other words don't allow negative thinking to diminish God's promises for your life in the midst of challenge. "Ask with no wavering, hesitating or doubting...for the one who wavers...let not this person think he shall receive anything he asks for from the Lord." James 1:7 |
| BUILDING ABUNDANCE Every person has the ability to achieve when they know who God is and accept the plan God has for their life. God has a purpose for each life which builds the testimony of each individual. It is through this testimony that our lives become prosperous to the purpose of God. "For I know the plans I have for you says the Lord, plans to prosper you not harm you to give you a future and a hope." Jeremiah 29:11 "We overcome by the blood of the lamb and the word of our testimony." Rev. 12:11 Are you viewing your challenges as an important asset to the testimony God wants you to share? It is through challenge that testimony is built, through testimony that success is achieved. Your story is your unique gift that has the power to change the lives of others and yourself. Notice two things that bring the overcoming ability to our lives 1) the blood of the lamb 2) the word of our testimony. First we must understand the key is not in what we have the ability to do. It is through God's grace (unmerited favor) that he took away our sinfulness by the blood of the Lamb (His only son.) We must acknowlege our ability as a direct result of God's perfect gift. In and of our own we have no power to overcome sin and disobedience to God's word. Total and continual humility are a key to receiving the blessings of God. "The reward for humility and fearing the Lord is riches and honor and life." Proverbs 22:4
The humble: 1) Acknowledge God's worthiness 2) Empty oneself 3) Fear the Lord 4) Have complete remorse for sinfulness 5) Take the yoke of Christ by moving with & learning of Him 6) Have personal salvation 7) Become a servant 8) Will be exalted Second, we must be willing to use our testimony (the firsthand experiences from our life's challenges and successess) to help others overcome. Our testimony has a power to relate hope and overcoming strength to the lives of others. It is the gift God gives us to bring glory to Him, strength to others, victory to us and defeat to the enemy. To keep it covered is to lose the blessing God wants to give us financially, emotionally, physically and spiritually. So I ask you: Are you ready to face your challenge & perfect your testimony? Are you ready to change your life by changing your thinking? Are you ready to have all God has for you to do His will in your life? Are you ready to get serious and do what it takes to please the heart of God? I believe it's time we step forward and help change our world by changing our thinking. Let's get serious and Humble Ourselves, Pray, Seek and Turn from wrong doing and thinking. God's blessings depend upon these conditions. "If my people who belong to me humble themselves, pray, seek to please me, and repudiate their sinful practices, THEN I will respond from heaven, forgive their sin and heal their land...Now I will be attentive and responsive to the prayers offered." 2 Chronicles 7:14-15 |
